Qatar- Increase in Official fees as of 26 June
2005
We would
like to advise you that a Ministerial Decision, number 47 of 2005, was
issued
on
March 6, 2005, and announced on 23 July 2005
stipulating the increase of the
official
fees in Qatar dramatically.
According
to the above decision, the total official fees will be:

The above
Ministerial decision will be put into effect as of
June 26, 2005.
It is worth
mentioning that this decision will be applied for new trademark
applications, as well as previously filed
trademark applications not yet processed into final registration as
regards the publication and registration fees.

Iraq- Re- organizing the Trademark Office
According to the Council
of Ministers, a decision was issued as of 30 May 2005,
in which the TMO came
under the custody of the Ministry of Industries,
while earlier it was a
separate organization.
Accordingly, the filing procedure is suspended until the transfer of
the files.
As far as renewals are concerned, and since the grace period is only
one
month, the Trademark
Office receives the applications but no official fees are paid.
