1. A power of attorney duly legalized up to the Iranian Consulate (Power Form).

2. Three copies of the specification, claims and abstract (in French or English).

3. Four sets of the formal drawings, (if any), on tracing linen, Bristol board or paper.

4. Certified copy of the priority document in case priority is to be claimed.

5. A priority document along with its translation into English, if priority rights are to be claimed.

6. For patent of importation, a certified copy of the letters patent.

Notes:

• Patent of importation is based on a foreign or PCT granted patent and is valid for the remaining life of the foreign patent. For this type of patent only the claims and few pages of patent certificate requires translation.

• If the patent has not yet been granted and the one-year priority claim period has lapsed, it is better to wait until the grant of the patent and file the Iranian application as a patent of importation.

• Alternatively, it is possible to file the patent application as an independent patent. For this type of patent all the specifications and claims must be translated into Persian. Independent patent is not based on any foreign registration or application. The life of the patent is twenty years from filing date in Iran.
