• Novelty is required on absolute novelty grounds, while if the invention was disclosed to the public within 6 months from the date of filing or priority date, or it was:-
  displaying the invention at an official or officially recognized international exhibition, or a third party abused with regard to the applicant.

1. Simply signed Power of Attorney in duplicate.

2. Specification, claims and abstract and formal drawings.

3. International classification of the patent.

4. Certified copy of the basic foreign granted patent.

Notes:

• All the above requirements must be submitted at time of filing.

• French translation is required and can be filed within 5 months from the date of application.

Duration: Patent of invention is valid for twenty years from the filing date, while medicine patent is valid for fifteen years from the filing date.

• Annuities are to be paid from the second anniversary of the date of filing with grace period of 6 months upon payment of penalty.
