  Trademark Filing Requirements:
  1. Simply signed power of attorney (Power Form).

  2. Details of the applicant.

  3. Details of the mark.

  4. Classes in which the mark should be registered.

 

  Renewal Requirements:

 

  Change of Name/ Address Requirements:
  1. Simply signed power of attorney under new name (Power Form).

  2. Official document certifying change of name.

 

  Assignment Requirements:
  1. Simply signed power of attorney by the assignee (Power Form).

  2. Assignment document duly signed by the parties (under hand or seal).

  3. Some consideration must be stated unless executed by Deed; nominal consideration is acceptable.

  4. No Tax implication, no stamp duty, with Goodwill, pending application and unregistered mark may not be assigned under common law.

 

  Searches:
  1. Method of search: Conducted manually and by computer on the official database.

  2. Time to be taken: 7 days.

  3. Contents: Search report includes information of prior marks hit by the search and comments on the similarity between the subject mark and each relevant prior mark.

  4. Other: Necessity of use search on prior marks should be judged case by case.
