Filing Requirements:

Trademarks: Bolivia


  Trademark/ Service Mark Requirements:
  1. Power of attorney duly notarized and legalized up to the Bolivian Consulate (Power Form).

  2. Certified copy of priority document in case priority is to be claimed.

  3. Certificate of incorporation duly legalized up to the Bolivian Consulate.

  4. Details of the applicant.

  5. Details of the mark.

 

  Renewal Requirements:

  • Power of attorney must be signed and legalized by Bolivian Consul (Power Form).

 

  Change of Name/ Address Requirements:
  • Power of Attorney must be signed and legalized (under new name), (Power Form).

 

  Assignment Requirements:
  1. Power of Attorney signed by assignee, legalized by Bolivian Consul (Power Form).

  2. Nominal consideration is acceptable.

  3. Two percent tax on recited amount is payable if executed in Bolivia.

  4. Fixed rate for stamp duty, with or without goodwill.

  5. Pending applications may be assigned and unregistered marks may not be assigned.

 

  Searches:
  1. Method of search: conducted manually on a private data base.

  2. Time to be taken: 1 day.

  3. Contents: Search report includes information of prior marks hit by the search and comments on similarity between subject mark and each relevant prior mark.

  4. Other: a search on actual use of prior is not necessary.
