  Trademark Filing Requirements:

  1. Simply signed power of attorney (Power Form).

  2. 5 prints of the mark. marks.

  3. List of goods and services.

  4. Details of the mark.

  5. Details of the Applicant.

 

  Renewal Registrations:

 

  Change of Name/ Address Registrations:

  1. Simply signed power of attorney (Power Form).

  2. Official document certifying change of name, such as extract from Register of companies.

 

  Assignment Requirements:

  1. Simply signed power of attorney by the assignee (Power Form).

  2. Assignment document signed by either party, notarized and legalized.

  3. No consideration provisions, no tax implication, stamp duty payable, special Goodwill required, pending application, may be assigned, registered marks may be assigned, but are only effective between parties.

 

  Searches:

  1. Method of search: Conducted by computer on the official database.

  2. Time to be taken: 3 days.

  3. Contents: Search report includes information of prior marks hit by the search and comments on similarity between the subject mark each relevant prior mark.

  4. Other: Necessity of use search on prior marks should be judged case by case.

Classification: International, multi-class filing.
