Trademark/ Service Mark Requirements:

Simply signed power of attorney . (Power Form)
5 copies of the mark for marks other than word marks.
Priority document, if claimed.

Renewal of Trademark/ Service Mark Registrations:

Simply signed power of attorney. (Power Form)
Original certificate of registration.

Change of Name/ Address Requirements:

Simply signed power of attorney (under a new name). (Power Form)
Document certifying change of name issued by Registry of Companies, notarized.

Assignment Requirements:

Power of attorney simply signed by the assignee. (Power Form)
Assignment document notarized.
Original certificate of registration.
No consideration required, value-added tax of 6% levied on transfers of intangibles, juridical entities must pay 40% tax on mark assignment.
No stamp duty, with Goodwill of the business.
Pending applications may be assigned and unregistered marks may not be assigned.

Claiming priority under Paris Convention: Yes.

Registration Duration: 10 years from the date of application.

Time until Issuance of Registration: 12 Months.

Opposition Period: 3 months.

Renewal Application: Within 12 months before expiry.

Non-Use: When a registered mark has not been continuously used for the goods or services concerned for 5 years preceding the request for cancellation, a cancellation action may be made by a third party.
