Filing Requirements:

Trademarks: Turkmenistan


  Trademark/ Service Mark Requirements:

  1. Simply signed power of attorney (Power Form).

  2. Twenty prints of the trademark (5x5cm).

  3. Explanation or the meaning and origin of the mark.

  4. Priority document, if priority claimed.

 

  Renewal of Trademark/ Service Mark Registrations:

 

  Change of Name/ Address Requirements:

  1. Simply signed power of attorney. (Power Form)

  2. Official document certifying change of name.

 

  Assignment Requirements:

  1. Power of attorney signed by the assignee. (Power Form)

  2. Deed of assignment, in Russian or Turkmen, signed by both parties under seal.

  3. Consideration is not acceptable, no tax implications , no stamp duty, with or without Goodwill.

  4. No provisions for pending applications, unregistered marks may not be assigned.

 

General Information:

Classification of Goods/ Services: International Classification.

 

Claiming priority under Paris Convention: Yes.

 

Registration Duration: 10 years from the date of application.

 

Renewal Application: Within 6 months before expiry.

 

Time until Issuance of Registration: 18 Months.

 

Use: There are cancellation actions based on non-use of a mark, but the specific period of non-use is not defined.
