Trademark Filing Requirements:

  1. Power of attorney duly notarized and legalized up to the Colombian Consulate. (power Form)

  2. Certified copy of the certificate of incorporation (for companies/firms only) duly notarized and legalized up to the Colombian Consulate.

  3. Certified copy of the priority document duly notarized and legalized up to the Colombian Consulate.

  4. Twenty specimens of the mark.

  5. Applicant details, mark, class and list of goods/services.

  • - Trademark registration is valid for ten years from the date of grant.

Change of Name/Address Applications:

1.  Power of attorney duly notarized and legalized up to the Colombian Consulate.

2.  Extract from the commercial register evidencing the change of name duly legalized up to the Colombian

     Consulate.

   3.  List of trademarks concerned.

 
  Assignments:

 

  1.  Assignment Deed duly legalised by Apostille or  Colombian consul.

  2.  Power of Attorney legalised by Apostille or Consulate.

  3.  Certificate of Good Standing of the company, and then have it legalized

 

  General Information:

Claiming priority under Paris Convention: Yes.

Registration Duration: 10 Years from the date of Application.

Classification of Goods / Services: International Classification.

Time until Issuance of Registration: 12 Months

Renewal Application: Within 6 months before expiry.

Use: When a registered mark has not been continuously used in at least one of the Andean Community member countries (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador,Peru and Venezuela)for the good or services concerned for 3 years preceding the request for cancellation,a cancellation action may be filed by an interested person.
